In December, 2014 the City Council of Yorba Linda, CA voted to 'adopt' Camp Pendleton's 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) to encourage community support for these local Marines, Sailors, and families, with a focus on single members and young families.
The official adoption ceremony was held 16 May, 2015 with city officials and members of the community, as well as Marines, Sailors, and families of the 11th MEU attending.
The Yorba Linda-11th MEU Adoption Committee was created to coordinate efforts to raise funds and collect in-kind donations that will directly benefit 11th MEU personnel and their families.
Our Mission is to generate community-wide support for the MEU members and families, both on their home station, and also during deployment. This support includes personal or family needs, providing social events, and creating goodwill for the service members throughout our community.
The Yorba Linda-11th MEU Adoption Committee relies entirely on the generous support from local service organizations, community members, our Committee and their families to cover all operating expenses.
All Committee members are Volunteers.
