Last year the YL 11th MEU Adoption Committee hosted 40 junior members the 11th MEU to the Taste of Yorba Linda. We’re shooting for the same number of Marines in 2023. Can you help give a Marine a night off with great food and entertainment?

FAMILY DAY AT LAKE O’NEILL

This is always a fun event when the new MEU members and families can meet and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Family Day was held at Lake O’Neill on Camp Pendleton. The picnic area is on the lake with a playground and miniature golf course just steps away.

This year the YL 11th MEU Adoption Committee partnered with the Knights of Columbus at Saint Martin de Porres church in Yorba Linda, the Yorba Linda Woman’s Club, and American Legion Auxiliary Richard M Nixon Unit 679, to offer a lunch of BBQ burgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings, plus chips, fruit, cookies, juice and gifts for the children.

The area had plenty of room for a friendly game of keep-away and mini golf.

This day was primarily for members and families of the new 11th MEU Command Element.

The on-base USO provided a bounce house for the kiddoes, a photo booth, corn hole and a giant Connect-4 game.

Toys, books, crafts, and games donated to the MEU children.
